CARME 2011 is the sixth in a series of conferences on Correspondence Analysis and Related Methods. This conference, celebrating the 50th anniversary of correspondence analysis (CA), the 40th anniversary of the biplot and the 25th anniversary of canonical correspondence analysis (CCA), will take place in Rennes (France) from 8 to 11 February 2011 at the Agrocampus in Rennes, France. The conference website is:

The objective of this landmark conference is to reflect on the diverse history of this area of multivariate analysis, to spotlight the latest research in correspondence analysis and discuss future developments. We aim to bring together theoretical and applied researchers in all the areas where correspondence analysis is currently used: sociology, psychology, ecology, archaeology, economics, genetics, marketing, linguistics, etc.
This world meeting of the correspondence analysis community will focus on all forms of correspondence analysis and related fields, including visualization of categorical data, simple correspondence analysis, multiple correspondence analysis, canonical correspondence analysis, joint correspondence analysis, multiway correspondence analysis, nonsymmetrical correspondence analysis, dual scaling, optimal scaling, homogeneity analysis, nonlinear principal component analysis, multidimensional scaling of categorical data, biplots of categorical data, compositional data analysis, internal and external stability, and geometric data analysis.
The program comprises invited lectures, contributed sessions and R tutorials.
Invited speakers include: Mónica Bécue-Bertaut, Cajo ter Braak, Pierre Cazes, Stéphane Dray, Jan de Leeuw, Michael Friendly, Patrick Groenen, Pieter Kroonenberg, Ludovic Lebart, Brigitte Le Roux, and Maurice Roux.
