Hi Sandy
We have been meaning to do something specifically on training venues but
haven't had the resources, time etc but you may find our/DPN "Guide to
Accessible Meetings and Events" useful. As part of the handbook contents,
we have a checklist for things to consider before, during and after
events.
It would probably be reasonably OK for the venues although can't remember
whether we have included a roving mike or not. However, it doesn't include
much about training exercises, issues around powerpoint presentations and
other training activities - but you did ask about venues!
The other issue is that although we tried to be comprehensive, it is still
important to visit the venues to audit the "journey" and not to rely on
self-assessment (but you probably already know this!)
Our publication is at www.mdpag.org.uk under publications. As with the
info from Salford, some of our resource links are out of date.
Happy to have any discussions off the list if you want.
best wishes
