EUROPEAN CONFERENCE FOR SOCIAL WORK RESEARCH
Inaugural conference: Social Work and Social Care Research - Innovation, Interdisciplinarity and Impact
http://www.ecswr.org<http://www.ecswr.org/>
St Catherine's College, Oxford
23rd-25th March 2011
The first of a major annual series, the conference will bring together researchers and research users from across Europe and beyond to present and exchange research ideas, findings, developments and applications. The inaugural conference aims to provide a forum open to all who are engaged and interested in social work and social care research, including service users. We would be particularly interested in papers from service users which explore:
* Innovative approaches to involving service users in social work or social care research;
* The contribution of service users and carers to interdisciplinary social work and social care research;
* Research impact and service user involvement in research.
If you wish to present at the conference and are a service user researcher who is unwaged, or low waged, and you do not have another source of funding to cover the full cost of the conference fee, please contact Kathy Boxall (email: [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> , telephone: 0114 222 6413) as soon as possible to register your interest in a subsidised service user researcher place. Decisions about subsidised service user researcher places will not be made until abstracts for the conference have been confirmed. A small number of subsidised places have also been made available for full time research students from the UK who are grant funded, who have an abstract for the conference accepted, and who attend the full conference. Information about this option can be obtained from the conference manager via the Contact Us page of the website - http://www.ecswr.org<http://www.ecswr.org/>
* Abstracts must be submitted by midnight on 20th September 2010
We also plan to set up informal networking meetings at the conference for different researcher groups - for example: service user researchers; practitioner researchers; doctoral students; social work educators - with the aim of providing a 'space' for people to talk with others with similar experience about what is distinctive about undertaking social work/care research from particular perspectives.
Full information about the Call for Papers and Conference Registration can also be found on the conference website http://www.ecswr.org
