If there is anyone here who considers themselves a professional
[digital] classicist, and is employed by a British or Irish university
but not in the Department of Classics, you might like to drop the
Classical Association a line and get yourself added to this list:

For the attention of Heads, UK and Republic of Ireland Classics departments:
Classicists in British Universities
All UK departments were invited, in a circular from the Classical
Association office in London, to supply information needed for the 13th
printed edition of the above directory, due to appear this month. So
far, very few have responded. Could all those Heads of Department who
wish to see their institutions represented please respond, providing the
information requested below, as soon as possible. Please send returns to
Claire Davenport at
[log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>.
Please note that all responses must be from a UK/RoI Head of Department
or authorized departmental contact. Responses from other individuals
will not be processed.
Current listings can be seen at
http://www.classicalassociation.org/CLASSICI/CBUhome.html. If it is more
convenient, please just let CA office know which updates need to be made
to the online listing rather than sending the full information again. A
full entry should contain the following information:
Department postal address, telephone number, fax number, email and web
address
For each member of staff:
Name
Degrees held e.g. DPhil (Oxon)
Position held e.g. Senior Lecturer
Short description of research interests - please keep to a few words
E-mail
Telephone number
Webpage url
Please indicate which member of staff is the Head of Department.
Please also supply the same information for Classicists in other related
departments e.g. Archaeology, Philosophy.
Each department will be sent a complimentary copy of the new edition and
additional copies can be ordered for £3.50 each.
Best wishes,
Douglas Cairns
