Hi Jane,
Thanks this is interesting. Jan's original post was about older people having to give up their much loved allotments. A council had started a scheme to link people together to help with heavier tasks such as digging so that people didn't have to give up. My rather ungrammatical post was in response to hers and was posted to the list in error!!! Sue

Why did this take a month to come through?
It is landshare which comments those with land to those who want some. Does this help?

Ha, I has that on my feed too. Great idea for sure. Did I mention that I share one with a slightly younger woman so not sure who is supporting who!! - it is a joy but still loads of work to do on it.

I have been talking to a number of people lately bemoaning the waiting
lists for allotments and seem to recall a scheme where those on the waiting
list were 'matched' with an older person who could no longer maintain their
garden on the understanding that they both benefited from the relationship
- one got their garden tended and the other got a growing space.
Has anyone heard of this or know where it might be operating and by who?
Or have I had a good idea and just think someone else must be doing it
already?
