I’m currently preparing a draft options paper outlining the different approaches to implementing a corporate-wide EDRM system and would like to draw upon the expertise of colleagues who’ve already been through this process over the last two or three years.
I’d be very interested to hear details on the scale of the roll-outs, timescales, total costs involved and – crucially – specific benefits delivered. The benefits could be defined in a broad range of ways – financial / headcount savings, enhanced ability to meet RM / IM requirements, legal compliance, link to workflow / scanning / or other efficiency benefits. Case studies involving local government or other large / complex public sector organisations are of particular interest, but experiences from all types of environments would be most welcome to hear about.
Where implementations are complete or nearing completion, any ‘lessons learnt’ type documents that people would be willing to share would be interesting to see, or alternatively, we could chat over the phone when convenient. I’d also be keen to hear about people’s wider experiences and tips for successful projects in this area.
If people could contact me – preferably off-list – it would be very helpful. (All contributions would be utilised only within my own local authority for the purposes of the internal paper I’m writing.)
