What a shame that this is your experience of HR. I have had mixed
experiences - generally more positive than negative. The worst was my first
OH post in the UK. My line manager was the HR manager and was as you
describe. A year into the post I decided I had had enough. Subsequent
experiences of HR were much better. In my experience, unsurprisingly the
ethos of the HR department mirrors (or sets) that of the organisation.
