i agree with lynsey
risk assess the condition and control
advise on potential unwanted hazards/adjustments necessary
i dont necessarily advise about DDA being applicable if the condition
is likely to remain controlled with treatment and monitoring and
there are no indications
that the job would impact on this unless it was something statutory
under the Act such as cancer, diabetes, epilepsy...as an analogy i
have an underactive thyroid and would
not deem myself to be under the act as i am controlled with
replacement therapy
i would comment when an employee maybe vulnerable and would benefit
from restrictions/adjustments appropriate to role so than there is
sense in this
sometimes comment that DDA applies in reports but we dont offer
opinion on adjustments is in my opinion not necessary. I also always
make sure that the employee has a good understanding of the
condition and management of this
