Subject: Image Archive (no permanent collection though)
Dear All,
I am currently setting up an image archive for MK Gallery. We do not
have a permanent collection so I have been asked to include there mainly
installation shots of the exhibitions we have shown in the last 10
years. I want to set it up on a server to be able to
- make some of the images available as high res upon request to the
press, publishers, other art organisations (e.g. if the exhibition was a
touring one), etc.
- link the images to the external sites e.g. our website, websites of
the organisations who own the exhibited objects, or exhibited them in
the past, to the relevant records in Europena, on-line press coverage,
etc. to make this database more comprehensive
- at some point we may want to integrate it with our new website
We do not have any budget for it so I thought about uploading images and
creating a simple interface, using Drupal or Wordpress to be able to
browse and search them relatively easily. I wanted to use as a basic
template a collection management software and its records but perhaps
there is something already created especially for the non collection
based galleries?
I wondered if any of you could possibly suggest anything....
Many thanks,
