This conference is part of a collaborative research project between the
National Portrait Gallery, The Courtauld Institute of Art and the
University of Sussex, called Making Art in Tudor Britain.
Sessions on: materials, appearances, effects, and the artists’ workshop;
authorship: native and foreign artists; patronage for portraiture and
the use of documentary and technical evidence
