He has lots of blogs - I think the content of these may be fed automatically to the lists rather than being posted by himself (hence getting the same email several times some days). He probably doesn't even get his own emails! I could be wrong though.... I think the content of some posts could be interesting but they're too hard to read due to the constant use of brackets and capitalisation. I thought this might be something to do with the transfer from blog to lis-link but on visiting the blogs the style is identical!

I delete Gerry's e-mails too. I don't know if he has a blog, but if not, he should start one because his postings to this list would be perfect material for it. They are not perfect material for a discussion list.

The number of complaints is probably "just a drop in the ocean" because
I, and many other people I know, have set up filters to delete Gerry's
messages automatically. Thus a large proportion of the list never see
his postings. But filters might not be an option for those using
web-based interfaces and certainly won't work for people receiving the
digest. Gerry posts his messages to at least a dozen lists regardless of
whether or not they are relevant. I believe that he has been
blocked/banned from at least two jiscmail lists and I know he was
blocked from one of my non-jiscmail lists way back in 2003 for his
spamming of that list.
