Hi
Tom Baker has suggested that I let the members of this list know about my progress improving the code which generates DCMI online documentation/resources [1].
Specifically, I created a fork of the repository on Github [2], cleaned and refactored the code a little, and then modified it so that the three HTML outputs now have RDFa embedded. I did most of this work in July. I am hoping it can be merged back into the original repository [3] soon, perhaps after some community review. There are already a few minor fixes I have in my head.
My tests [4] indicate that the results are valid and produce plenty of RDF triples. In particular, I would like to hear if the triples themselves (the result of simple mappings) make sense. I based most of them on some comments I found embedded in the code, attributed to Tom [5]. I am pleased to receive this feedback in any form, including submitting changes to the mapping file itself [6] in the github repository or a clone. In fact, any patches or comments on the code are very welcome.
I have documented most aspects of running the tool [7] and also welcome feedback on that (or edits, since it's a wiki). I would particularly like to know if you were able to follow the instructions successfully. I suspect the layout and level of detail is a little scary. The process is probably not as hard as first impressions might suggest. I suspect I should move some detail into separate pages.
I can provide my three XHTML+RDFa output files from this tool to anyone who would simply like to examine those. Please message me privately and indicate if you prefer an attachment (one is 850kB) or link to the cloud (I don't want to put links that may not persist into mail archives).
Thanks to Manu Sporny and Tom for providing this enjoyable opportunity. I hope there is more work to do on it.
