Sorry for the delay - It was not obvious me me what the answer was.
OK, so when you finish a coot session it should now (as of rev 3144)
save both a .state.py file and a .state.scm file, that is, if you have
the pythonized Coot. You do not need to install from source.

You should be able to share a python state file if the files (pdb/mtzs
etc) are in the local directory (I presume that you will not have the
same absolute path to files on you RedHat and Windows systems). On the
RedHat system, I'd imagine that you'd have to use the arguments:
--no-state-script --script -0-coot.state.py
