Dear All,
I would like to make the point that the BPS management systems are
not set up to thwart Sections
but to help them, and I find it very irritating to read about "being
taken over by the BPS".
I doubt it was a secret that the fee structure was due to be
discussed on August 16th and given the time that signatures have been
collected to support the Section, I think some people would be
justified in feeling very frustrated that they cannot now join the
Section for another year.
The basic reason for this situation is nothing to do with the BPS,
but because organisers of this process have not obtained the
information until the 11th 59th, which they consider pertinent to
their concerns.
There may be legitimate concerns about some aspects of joining the
BPS, but it seems to me that complaining about the timing is most
certainly not one of them. If the BPS was equally disorganised,
there WOULD be grounds for complaint.
Sorry, but I think we should be grown up about all this.
Erica
