Many tasks that people carry out in everyday life are not solitary and require interaction with other individuals in the form of groups. Several groups that occur in everyday life are not well defined and structured, indeed sometimes groups can form for a fixed period of time for a particular task or purpose. For example many examples of these types of groups can be found when completing social planning tasks e.g. deciding to go for dinner and choosing a restaurant, finding movie schedules to decide which movie to watch or preparing for a party etc. We are interested in discovering how these types of groups form, how members of these groups communicate, the role of technology in fostering this type of collaboration and if we can provide technology that can make this process easier for everybody involved. In particular we are interested in occasions where these groups occur naturally and are not planned well in advance, e.g. meeting a friend for a drink or running into friends and deciding to go for dinner.
Take a break from studying or working to give your opinion and information about group formation and interaction. The survey takes approximately 5-10 minutes and you can complete it on any computer that has web access.
