Dear All,
I have a radio listing from the Manchester Guardian in 1946. I would
appreciate some help in understanding it.
It reads:
To-days BBC Programmes
North and Northern Ireland 449.1 Metres (668Kcs.): 285.7 Metres (1.050kcs).
Then below the time slot reads -
7.30: "Family Relationships" 11-"Sex Education for the Securer Founding of
Family Life" (449.1 Metres): R.J. Forbes (Piano).
My questions are
1) what is all that stuff about meters?
2) Did the programme for North and Northern Ireland differ from that for the
rest of Britain?
3) Is the programme on sex education the 11th in a series on Family
Relationships?
4) What does R.J. Forbes on the Piano have to do with this? Does that
musical interlude fill in the end of the time slot?
Thanks for any answers.
Best wishes,
Hera Cook
