Have you got an idea for a geographically exciting journey, a passion for furthering our understanding of the world and the desire to push personal boundaries? Are you an aspiring journalist or broadcaster with an interesting story to tell?
The Journey of a Lifetime Award, run by the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) in conjunction with the BBC, is a grant of £4,000 for an original and inspiring journey anywhere in the world, awarded to those with a curiosity about the world and the desire to communicate with a wider audience. The winner receives radio and broadcast training from the BBC, and records their journey for a BBC Radio 4 documentary.
The deadline for the 2011 award is 24th September 2010, and the journey of our 2010 winner, Nick Hunt, will be broadcast on 10th September at 11am.
