At the RCA, we digitised around 10,000 slides using the Nikon SF-210 batch slide feeder, with only occasional jamming problems, which you get used to and learn how to handle. Unfortunately, the feeder only works with two Nikon scanners (SuperCoolScan 4000 and 5000, if memory serves), and these are now discontinued. Our scanner itself has now packed up and it seems impossible to purchase a new one which will take the batch feeder. As far as I can tell, there's nothing currently on the market which will scan slides to high standards individually and with an automated feed mechanism. Would be glad to hear if anyone knows different.
