Hi Magda, I hope I have understood what you are asking for. I have a paper in Space and Culture, which deals with the notion of hospitable space among gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender consumers. It considers the ideology of a hospitable space and how this loose construct emerges and operates. It draws on the idea of myths surrounding spaces for queer consumers, which again is built upon a series of negotiated ideologies. The refs are below. I can circulate the papers.
Lugosi, P., 2009. The Production of Hospitable Space: Commercial Propositions and Consumer Co-Creation in a Bar Operation. Space and Culture, 12 (4), pp. 396-411.
Lugosi, P., 2007. Queer consumption and commercial hospitality: communitas, myths and the production of liminoid space. International Journal of Sociology and Social Policy, 27 (3/4), pp. 163-174.
I hope these help.
Peter

Dear listserv members,
I would be grateful if you could help me:
Have you ever come across ethnographies documenting a sense of the world as being the place of contradictions, compromises, ambiguities, flexibilities and not that of all-or-nothing black-and-white positions and propositions?
Have you ever come across ethnographies referring to 'good enough' approximations of ideals?
Thanks all,
Magda
