1st Announcement (with apologies for x-posting)
EMBEDDING SUSTAINABILITY
Practical pathways for operational and educational practice in public
engagement institutions
Wednesday 29th September 2010, 10 AM-4.30 PM
(see http://www.livingrainforest.org/explore/conferences2010/)
EMBEDDING SUSTAINABILITY is targeted at senior managers, operational
managers and learning managers of sustainability and environment related
public engagement organisations in the UK and further afield. It will ask
how we, as visitor attractions, can really practice what we preach in
terms of sustainability and environment - with the aim of sharing ways to
make our own operations and programmes more environmentally friendly – and
involve our visitors in this journey. We envisage an enlivening day with
leading practitioners and experts to help invigorate your organisation’s
operations and programmes.
INCLUDES … contributions from Ola Ullsten (Former Swedish PM and chairman,
World Council for Corporate Governance), Franny Armstrong’s 10:10 campaign
with The Guardian, the innovation-driving Technology Strategy Board,
Natural England, Sustainable Schools Initiative and Eden Project. Plus …
the latest from the science centre, zoo and botanic garden communities
which together engage over 45 million visitors a year in the UK alone.
Organized by the Trust for Sustainable Living in association with the UK
Association for Science & Discovery Centres (ASDC), Botanic Gardens
Conservation International(BGCI) and British & Irish Association of Zoos
and Aquariums (BIAZA).
Conference venue: Human Impact Building, The Living Rainforest, Berkshire.
