An opportunity has arisen in the School of Arts, Media and Education to undertake the role of module leader and link-tutor for the theory/contextual studies strand of our high-profile MA International Multimedia Journalism delivered in collaboration with the prestigious Beijing Foreign Studies University.
The post-holder will enable students to engage with current theoretical debates in the field of multimedia journalism and will foster an understanding of the impact of globalisation and new technologies across the postgraduate portfolio. The post-holder will bring a high level of expertise and experience in the application of theory to practice and research methodologies.
As a large proportion of teaching and assessment will involve on-line delivery, the successful candidate must have proven online teaching skills (Virtual Teaching skills, online communication, blogging etc) and will be expected to collaborate with other postgraduate teams in the School to develop on-line, flexible-delivery methods and materials. The post-holder must be publically engaged in the contemporary multimedia journalism debate and will be expected to contribute to the developing research profile of the Art and Design area.
As the MA Multimedia Journalism programme is to be delivered in Beijing, it is desirable that applicants have experience of working with international students and are willing to deliver intensive blocks of teaching in China at the Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU).
Actual salary in the range of £15,580.80 - £18,062.40 per annum*.
*It is expected that a new appointee will commence at the bottom of the grade.
