I ran a DynaMed trial alongside UTD, and UTD won hands down. Some people reported out of date info on Dmed. There's a reason it's cheaper! I axed quite a lot to afford UTD, but the usage stats speak for themselves. When most things go down it's only me that notices, but if UTD does the phone starts ringing...

Can't speak for BMJ. Had a peek at the sample topics and it looks a bit cluttered to me.

For general information we have recently being running a trial of Dynamed which is considerably cheaper than UpToDate (which we can't afford) and this is being very well received.

Just for information - when we were unsure earlier this year if funding would be available for Uptodate, we had a trial to Wiley's Essential Evidence Plus as well as Best Practice and asked users to vote for their preferred resource - EEP won. Happily, we now have Uptodate renewed.

Hello Heather,

I would be interested in any response. I am thinking about doing a trial of both products over the Autumn.

I am also interested if any one has compared content with what is available freely or via the Core Content? It would also be useful to know how other libraries persuaded their IT departments to install on the Intranet?

Kind regards

Hello All

Does anyone know if there have been any studies recently comparing BMJ's Best Practice and UpToDate?

Do you have any views on how these two compare?

I will summarise replies for the list.

Thanks

Heather
