This problem was discussed at the recent FIL Conference. ILL staff are not aware of which products are licensed to allow ILL and do not have the time to check each title. The sector needs to either get a blanket licence scheme for all content so we know where we stand or get better at Electronic Resource Management! The majority of people stated that they would reply "Sorry e-journal cannot supply" (or equivalent) rather than either acknowledge any statement you make or do any investigation themselves. Delegates recognised that this position was 'frustrating'. Some projects are in place to find solutions to address the issues but until we can all get the information easily we have to accept that a greater portion of material that was once available is going to become inaccessible!
Cheers

Thank you for the helpful replies! SUNCAT seems a useful resource.
I'm trying for two papers from this year's Molecular & Cellular
Proteomics. Most libraries list the open-access link, but the current
twelve months is subscription only, and there don't seem to be many.
