Do you have anyone who has recently joined your organisation and is new to
publishing? Perhaps you have people working in a sales, marketing, customer
service or editorial role who would benefit from learning more about library
technology and the role in plays in directing users to content?
If so, Renew Training's "Understanding the Journals Industry" and
"Understanding E-Journal Technology" courses may be helpful.
These courses are now very well established and feedback has been excellent
- 100% of our delegates would recommend the courses to their colleagues.
Our courses are constantly updated to reflect industry developments and are
a quick and cost-effective way of getting up to speed with E-Journal
technology and the overall journals industry.

UNDERSTANDING E-JOURNAL TECHNOLOGY, 25th November, 2010, London
"I wish I had come on this course years ago. Everything suddenly makes
sense".
This course will provide an insight into the technologies behind e-journal
delivery. Participants will learn how technology is used throughout the
delivery of e-journals from publisher via library to the end-user.
The course will educate attendees about key issues affecting the delivery of
e-journals and how these affect licensing, customer service and even
pricing. Participants will also learn what necessitated technological change
in libraries and publishers and how to solve some of the key problems posed
by library technologies such as link servers, A-Z lists, federated search,
DOIs, OpenURL, AthensDA and Shibboleth.
