Dear Colleagues,
IEEE is planning a new release of the IEEE Xplore platform on 7th July
2010. No downtime is expected. With this release, IEEE is offering
IEEE Xplore authentication using Athens/Shibboleth single sign-on. For
those customers who are interested in learning more about Shibboleth
or Athens you can visit the Web sites listed below.
Shibboleth: http://shibboleth.internet2.edu/
Athens: http://www.athensams.net/
How to Sign Up for Shibboleth/Athens access
Available to universities, corporations and government agencies,
Shibboleth and Athens authentication provide two convenient ways to
securely authenticate users within an organization across the Web.
Please visit www.ieee.org/go/singlesignon, where you can begin the
setup process. Once the request has been submitted, a member of the
IEEE technical team will contact you directly.
In addition we can announce the following;
IEEE has the #1 journal in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, along
with other high-ranking journals across several technology areas,
according to the 2009 Thomson Reuters Journal Citation Report,
released June 2010.
With IEEE Signal Processing Magazine in the #1 spot, IEEE has 16 of
the top 20 journals in Electrical & Electronic Engineering-leading the
category for another year. IEEE also publishes the #1 journal in
Automation & Control Systems, Computer Science-Software Engineering,
and Robotics.
According to the 2009 JCR, IEEE publishes:
* 16 of the top 20 journals in Electrical & Electronic Engineering
* 9 of the top 10 journals in Telecommunications
* 6 of the top 10 journals in Computer Science, Hardware & Architecture
* 3 of the top 5 journals in Automation & Control Systems
* 3 of the top 5 journals in Computer Science, Software Engineering
* 2 of the top 5 journals in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence
* 2 of the top 5 journals in Robotics
The Journal Citation Report offers a systematic, objective means to
critically evaluate the world's leading journals. By compiling
articles' cited references, the Journal Citation Report helps measure
research influence and impact, showing the relationship between citing
and cited journals. IEEE rankings are by impact factor, defined as the
average number of times articles in a specific journal are cited up to
two years after publication.
Kind regards
Steve
