Dear All
I am a masters student at the University of Sheffield and I am currently working on my dissertation, which is looking at the music collections in public libraries and the staff that manage them. There are not many staff left working in public libraries that are music-specialist staff and the dissertation is looking to see whether this causes problems for those that now manage the music collection. I hope in my dissertation to come up with some recommendations to help those non-specialists that have been put in charge of the music section. I am also going to determine the value of the expertise that music-specialist and music-non specialist librarians bring to the music collection.
I was wondering if you would be willing to take part in my investigation and fill in the following short questionnaire about training staff to work with music collections. I will be using this information to help inform my recommendation. This dissertation has received ethics approval from the University of Sheffield Department of Information Studies.
As I can not attach a word document to this message, if you are willing to take part, please email me on [log in to unmask] and I will send you the questionnaire. It is only 4 questions long and so should not take more than about 10 minutes to complete.
Yours Sincerely
Vanessa Fuidge
