A number of particularities that characterize the Neotropics -the
biogeographic region ranging from central and southern Mexico to
southern South America and adjacent islands- are relevant to
understanding the diversity and evolution of human-animal interactions
through time, as well as the properties of the resulting archaeofaunal
record.
The mission of the newly formed Neotropical Zooarchaeology Working
Group (NZWG) is to offer a forum where people can meet from any
country interested in these research problems.
The first meeting of the Working Group will be held at the next ICAZ
Conference in Paris, on Friday, 27 August, 17:30 – 18:30 hs, in
Jussieu, amphi 45B.
All interested researchers are invited to participate and/or to join the NZWG!
