ESRC COLLABORATIVE (CASE) PhD STUDENTSHIP (2010-2013) with Southern Staffordshire Partnership
Title: Understanding and Enhancing the Resilience of Edge City Economies: The Functioning and Governance of the Southern Staffordshire Economy.
Applications are invited for an ESRC Collaborative (CASE) PhD studentship under the supervision of Professor John Bryson and Dr Julian Clark, School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences, University of Birmingham, in collaboration with the Southern Staffordshire Partnership. This research aims to explore the functioning economic geography and related governance of an edge city economy – Southern Staffordshire; a regional economy that is located to the edge of the Birmingham conurbation.
The studentship consists of an ESRC Maintenance Payment of £13,590, plus £2k from the SSP for 3 years (plus home fees). Preference will be given to applicants who have an ESRC-recognised Research Training Masters level degree (+3 route) and/or relevant research experience and training.
