Dear Colleagues
I seem to remember that they have been in trouble before. I - as a fellow
publisher (Poetry Salzburg) - ask myself why they cannot get their act
together and survive without having to ask us all the time to buy their
books. I seem to remember that Salt received a huge grant - perhaps huge
grants, if my memory does not fail me, at least much more than other poetry
presses could ever hope to receive.
Quite naturally we should all be interested in supporting poetry publishers
/ small publishers and little magazines. As editor of Poetry Salzburg Review
I have witnessed a certain development - for quite some time already - that
many people are only interested in submitting their work and getting it
published. But they are not interested in supporting magazines by taking out
a subscription, let alone reading work by fellow poets / writers..
This is why I would like to interpret and support Alec's appeal in a much
more general way. Buy - and most importantly - read more books and issues of
little magazines.
Best wishes,
Wolfgang

Dear All,
Salt are in trouble and need us to buy books to survive. It would be a
shame to see them go.
Regards,
Alec.
