Statistician / Senior Statistician - Respiratory Medicines Development

GlaxoSmithKline is one of the world's leading pharmaceutical and healthcare companies, with statisticians and programmers working in Research and Development at UK and US sites. There is currently a vacancy for a Statistician, to support an innovative new chemical entity currently in phase II clinical trials, in the Respiratory Medicines Development Centre at our site in Stockley Park.
As a key member of a global team of physicians, clinical research scientists, regulatory colleagues and data managers, you will:
• Use your statistical expertise in the design and analysis of clinical trials.
• Define and conduct appropriate analyses to support regulatory and reimbursement needs.
• Research different statistical methodologies to enhance future analysis strategies.
• Utilise your excellent team-working skills and statistical knowledge to provide quality input into international clinical development programmes.
Your exact responsibilities will depend on your demonstrated technical skills and behavioural competencies.
Essential qualifications:
• MSc or PhD in Statistics (or equivalent).
• Strong technical and communication skills with the ability to work independently on a variety of tasks.
Preferred qualifications:
• Experience of protocol development, analysis and reporting of clinical trials, input to clinical trial publications and regulatory submissions.
• Ability to research or apply new statistical methodologies within a clinical trial setting and to communicate statistical concepts to non-statisticians.
