Thanks for that explanation - one last question on this subject if I may !
I agree that one could see an increase in mode together with a decrease in F1 or a decrease in F2 either of which might be consistent with selective degeneration of a fibre bundle. What about the scenario where you see in the same area an increase in mode (as well as FA), and an increase in F1 but no changes (either increases or decreases) in F2. Would this kind of scenario be consistent with an interpretation of simply a more linear anisotropy, (eg training related increases in FA giving rise to a larger F1 signal) rather than any selective degeneration of fibre bundles ?
