Salary: Research Assistant £23,566 - £26,523
Research Associate £27,319 - £35,646
The person appointed to this post will be joining a rapidly expanding team of
health services researchers in Cambridge and will collaborate closely with
health services researchers at RAND Europe (an independent, not-for-profit
organisation that delivers high-quality, objective research and analysis) and
with senior statisticians at RAND's headquarters in the US.
Key activities relate to the development of methods of measuring patient experience
in the NHS, and assessing how measurement of patient experience can be used
to improve care.
If appointed as a Research Associate, you will be supervising junior statistical staff
at the university who are also involved in this work.
There will be additional opportunities to get involved in a range of other research
Projects being carried out at the university and at RAND Europe and there may
be opportunities to visit RAND's headquarters in Santa Monica.
You will have a first degree in statistics or a related subject and a masters degree.
You will have a PhD for appointment as research associate.
Your degrees are likely to be in medical statistics, but candidates from some
other disciplines (e.g. econometrics, psychometrics) might have the required
skills of handling large datasets and advanced regression techniques.
The post is for a fixed term of four years from 1 September 2010.
