Acquisitions Assistant
£18,384 - £21,312 pa
Fixed-term appointment until 31 March 2011 with the possibility of an extension to the end of 2012.
The purpose of the job is to view and describe archival film and video material, creating data to inform and enable appraisal decisions and enhance information about collections. The successful candidate will process incoming historical collections and items awaiting appraisal that are additional to our new acquisitions project. Ideally, you will have experience or an aptitude for handling fragile or historical material, together with a good general knowledge of 20th century Scottish history and culture. A qualification and/or experience in archive work is desirable. You must be an excellent team member, with the ability to prioritise and manage a programme of work.
