I'm not sure what the issue is. I don't see it on my Snow Leopard builds. We've had a similar report from someone who said it started happening for them after MIRIAD or SciSoft was installed. Can you check your DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH to see if something is inserted in front of /star/lib?
