This is an appeal on behalf of the Discovery Museum in Newcastle. They
are currently embarking on a renovation project on a number of
galleries including Science Works.
They have a small amount of funding to begin looking at what can
potentially be done to Science Works to update it and are looking for
someone with knowledge of science interactives and science based
galleries in museums to carry out a short assessment in the initial
planning stages.
We have come up with a few names already, but I was hoping that you
may have some suggestions for consultants/freelance people working in
this field who we could approach. Also, if you have any ideas yourself
about how we could update the space we would be very grateful. The
museum welcomes around 400,000 visitors a year and it is one of the
most popular galleries so things have to be built to withstand quite a
bit of use!
Please can you send any ideas and contacts to me, I will forward them
on to the museum. My e-mail address is [log in to unmask]
