**
*[image: Randall Stephens]Randall $tephens is the last angry man -- he was
the first one too. *
**
*He doesn't suffer fools, doesn't ride a bike without brakes, doesn't get
stuck in traffic, doesn't use phrases like 'l-o-l', doesn't tell people
about his new kettle on facebook. He doesn’t believe in fairies.*
**
*He writes poetry about dinosaurs, cycling, being angry, being happy,
travel, and sex at inappropriate times. He performs. Well.*
*He’s on his way.*
Indeed. He's a Melbourne poet, his hat is infamous, his words are loud, and
he'll be here on 19 June. And he's bringing along, for our, and his,
listening pleasure...
*Steve Smart. *A poet who has a fan page on facebook that was *created by
som**eone else*. A poet whose name means Melbourne Poetry to anyone who
knows. *[image: Steve Smart]*Co-founder of the Overload Festival. Winner of
slams. Self-publisher of two CDs and at least six zines. A presentation
style that's almost violent in its nakedness. A completely original voice,
informed by everything from Bill Hicks to Laverne & Shirley to love & death
to Tasmanian forest blockades.
* These guys are doing two features each. Be early if you want a seat.*
**Steve Smart and Randall Stephens. 19 June. 2010. At the Moon. 2-4pm. Plus
open mike. 323 William.
Be there!

And, as if that isn't enough, next week we feature Perth's much-loved
cello-playing poet, KEVIN GILLAM. Kevin should really need no introduction,
but...*
*
*Kevin Gillam*, poet and cellist, has had two books of poems published by
Sunline Press, ‘Other Gravities’ (2003) and ‘Permitted to Fall’ (2007), two
chapbooks published by Picaro Press, ‘shouting drowning’ (2006) and ‘closer
to now’ (2010), and a shared anthology ‘the forest waits’ with Lucy Dougan
and Andrew Taylor. He has appeared as a guest at the Queensland, Overload
(Melbourne) and Tasmanian Poetry Festivals, and in May 2010 was part of
Wordstorm, the Darwin Writing Festival.
