Snap: Conducting Sibelius
Conducting Sibelius while driving,
though not recommended, is hard to resist.
If the north road rolls ahead to mountains,
preferably through dark pine forests,
the sky above full of light, though storms
are massing on every horizon,
both hands may be needed to propel
music and vehicle forward into
turbulence and out to majestic
closure. Nearer home, conduct Mozart,
tapping on the steering-wheel, flicking
commands to all the traffic lights.
