Hi Jai,
Thanks for the extra details. For someone with the apropriate skills it
is quite quick to check for "jammed" joints in the midfoot and release
if present. Also quite probably there are triggers to be found and
released in the FDB and interossei. There may be pods in your area who
practice these skills which are becoming increasingly used by pods. It
does make sense to really fairly quickly rule out local issues as being
involved in the problem. Orthoses often won't make a noticeable
difference at this stage of severe pain even though they may help in the
long run (if suitable).
Personally, I'd do these things before getting into more complicated
tests which also would invove other professionals.
