Hi,
We had a similar case.
We conducted a risk assessment and gained consent to inform our team
abroad of the contents of the risk assessment.
We also ensured that our company medical insurance was valid, and that
the employee had a clear written procedure of how to initiate access to
medical help in country.
We advised that the employee visited his own GP, and had more than 1
epipen prescribed for his trip.
Hope this helps
Cheryl

Dear list,
I have seen someone for an overseas travel medical today who suffers
with severe (epipen carrying) nut and seafood allergies. He is posted to
Singapore for two weeks and I am concerned that he will find it very
difficult to avoid nuts (ground nut oil is used for cooking I believe)
and seafood for which Singapore is renowned. He is very knowledgeable
about what to avoid and keen to go. I have advised him to let his
colleagues know of his allergies and carry his epipen and am awaiting a
reponse from our travel health adviser but does anyone have any thoughts
on this issue or if there is anything else we should do?
Thanks in advance
Louise
