The School of Media, Film and Music at the University of Sussex invites
applications for a Scholarship/Internship available to those accepted onto
the MA in Digital Documentary. The scheme allows you to combine your sudies
in documentary practice and theory at Sussex with a short internship at
Brighton-based production company, back2back.tv.
In the School you are taught by award-winning practitioners, led by Lizzie
Thynne, and leading theorists of the media and documentary studies. You
will supported by a team of highly experienced production tutors and have
24 hour access to excellent facilities. The internship programme will see
you work alongside the director, David Notman-Watt, getting experience in a
variety of production roles, depending on the company's schedule,
including, production coordinator, producer, writer, researcher, and
camera/editor assistant.
The scholarship of £2000 is to support your studies on the programme.
Eligibility requirements:
You must have been accepted onto the MA Digital
Documentary programme. You must have the equivalent of a 2.1 in your
undergraduate degree in a relevant subject (e.g. Media, Art, Design,
Photography). You must have some video experience or work experience in the
media industries. You must be a UK/EU resident.

MeCCSA is the subject association for the field of media, communication and cultural studies in UK Higher Education. Membership is open to all who teach and research these subjects in HE institutions, via either institutional or individual membership. The field includes film and TV production, journalism, radio, photography, creative writing, publishing, interactive media and the web; and it includes higher education for media practice as well as for media studies.
