Do you need to better manage your records, but don't know where to
start? Not sure if sample policies will really fit your museum? Perhaps
you've drafted a policy, but have doubt as to whether it's fit for
purpose?
Once you have recognised the need for records management, implementation
may seem daunting and it can be tricky to make a start. This practical
half-day workshop gives step-by-step guidance on how to develop a
records management policy that fits your museum. The policy is a vital
tool that helps you to define your objectives and gain the
organisational support you need.
Although this session builds on the popular Nuts and Bolts of Museum
Records Management workshop, it is not necessary to have attended it;
the session is designed for museum workers already involved in
developing records management in their own institution. If you are in
the process of drafting a policy, please bring it along for discussion.
If you don't already have one, you will leave the workshop with an
outline of your policy.
The workshop will be lead by Samira Teuteberg, London Museums Hub
Records Management Advisor and Charlotte Brunskill, Archivist and
Records Manager at the National Portrait Gallery.
