Hi all,
For this week's seminar on Friday we have Roger Clowes, who will speaking about:
The largest features of the early universe: a re-examination of the
Clowes & Campusano Large Quasar Group with the SDSS
At the time of its discovery the Clowes & Campusano Large Quasar Group
(LQG) at <z> = 1.28 was the largest feature known in the early
universe. This seminar will report on the status of LQGs in general
and, in particular, on what can now be learnt about the Clowes &
Campusano LQG by re-examining it with the new data provided by the
SDSS quasar database. Some interesting properties of its cosmological
neighbourhood will also be discussed.
The seminar starts at 12 noon in Huxley 503, followed by lunch with the speaker.
See you there!
