Dear all
we experienced the cancellation of an Intranet forums meeting due to unforeseen circumstances at the very last minute last month (and in such a way that for those who are actively using social networking sites it could have seemed an April 1st joke in order to laugh at somebody's "fate to fail" in a childish way, offensive for some, diminishing for everybody in my opinion).
In this occasion I have thought we may wish to consider the introduction of a very simple "Events Peer-review and management process" that could be handled online through a protected Wiki.
Such a cheap solution may improve the brainstorming before events and the collection of ideas in a transparent and participatory way. It could also support fallback arrangements in a natural way. Other advantages include the possibility to archive presentations of past events together with the preparatory materials and their supporting conversations, allowing members to develop further interactions.
Wiki are not free from spam, hacking and other common problems related to misrepresentation and cybercrimes activities but the maintenance and the tracking of communications should be easier to carry on.
If there is enough interest for this proposal can we add it to the next AGM agenda under "other topics" perhaps?
Looking forward to meeting you at the Annual Seminar and AGM
Regards
Brunella Longo
