Hello Colleagues,
In partnership with Thames Valley and Middlesex Universities, we have designed a work based learning programme that will be of interest to some Chartership candidates, particularly those following Pathway 2.
Work based learning can help candidates address elements of the Body of Professional Knowledge, hone their evaluative approach and result in an academic qualification.
Rosemary McGuiness, the programme leader, has created a very clear presentation on her blog: http://rosemarymcguinness.blogspot.com/ to explain how the new programme will work and how to go about applying.
The programme is titled BA (Hons) Professional Practice (Information and Libraries Management) but there are exit points at Certificate, Certificate of HE, Diploma, Foundation, Advanced Diploma, degree and Honours Degree, so if the reason you are following Pathway 2 is because you cannot commit to a full programme there are still ways of benefiting.
The programme is not yet accredited. However if you are already eligible to submit a Chartership application you may value the structure of a university programme to help you meet aspects of the Chartership process.
If you would like to find out more, please contact me and I will forward further details.
Best wishes and good luck
Michael
