We are planning a redesign of the administrative interface to our
preservation repository (as one component to a larger redesign of the
service). The administrative interface is the window that digital object
stewards (librarians, archivists and museum curators and repository staff)
have to the collections stored in the repository. It is completely separate
from any public view or discovery interface to the collections. It includes
account information, access restriction information and technical metadata
about the objects. In our first generation repository, stewards have had
limited functionality to view and report on their collections with some
ability to edit administrative or account metadata. We are planning on
broadening the interface to include more collections management and
reporting functions.
We would like to review what other institutions are doing in this area.
Would anyone be willing to provide "view only" access to a couple of
librarians at Harvard, or to supply screen shots, user guides or other
representative presentations?
