Visit City University London for two days of discussions, interviews,
talks and presentations by musicians and composers working in film,
media and digital music. Ask them about how they got to where they are
today, what their work entails, and what advice they have for people
starting out in music, media and the arts.
Day 1 on MUSIC AND FILM (with Screened Music Network) a panel
discussion on MUSIC, MEDIA AND OPPORTUNITIES with composers Alex
Heffes, Nina Humphreys, William Goodchild and Rob Lane, and a keynote
interview with Patrick Doyle, renowned composer for Gosford Park,
Nanny McPhee and Bridget Jones¹ Diary.
Day 2 on DIGITAL MUSIC AND MEDIA (with Sound and Music) an interview
with Chris Watson, musician and BBC sound recordist, panel
presentations on MAKING SOUND WORK with sound artist Scanner, music
production company Brains & Hunch, live artist Helena Hunter and
workshop leader and artist Patrick Furness. There will also be a
presentation by multimedia production company The Light Surgeons.
On both days there will also be an open discussion and a chance to
chat informally over a glass of wine.
