Dear all,
If there was ever a good reason to get on facebook, this would be one
of them... there is an incredibly powerful response building in
Toronto to the recent Pride Committee decision to ban a group called
'Queers Against Israeli Apartheid' from marching in the Pride Parade.
Yesterday morning, 21 recipients of Pride honours returned their
awards at a press conference and in the evening several hundred
attended a spirited community meeting affirming both the importance of
free and political speech and the interconnectedness of struggles
around sexuality, race, gender, and colonialism. The comments and
pictures are beautiful... and for those of you following discussions
around 'homonationalism' and 'queer imperialism', this is a welcome
trajectory.

and all this overlapping with counter G20 preparations...
