I only followed this discussion loosely, because there was just not
enough time for me to follow all and every link which was sent in ...
Anyway .. I won't say much ..
Just as the comments from the German contributers were really nothing I
could identify with, instead I really agree that Germans in average have
a problem to address or even criticize Israel.
.. and it has a lot to do with the guilt issue. So before you blame me,
I am speaking from the inside .. as being German myself and eductated
with visits in Konzentrationcamps etc .....
So I had to learn myself to find a way, how to deal with that problem
and that guilt German people inherited from their past, can not be used
to be uncritical and look without speaking on the suppression of another
people.
One of the problems Germans have lies for me in the point that they
cannot distinguish between being jewish and Israel and its maneuvers as
a state. To critisize Israel is not the same as antisemitism .. sorry,
that I don't agree and feel embarrassed by these opinions Thomas Dörfler
expresses - no, Palestinians do not have what they deserve !
They been expelled from their area and it has been almost not been
noticed by the world at that time - yes, and here it is the guilt issue
at play the Germans initiated by the genocide they committed. But it can
never be an excuse to look at an other massive suppression a people who
lived in that area ........
By the way the not much acknowledged Goldstone report, has been done -
as the title say - by Mr. Goldstone - jewish himself!
