Dear All,
On behalf of the steering committee for ACM Interactive Tabletops and Surfaces (ITS), I would like to invite bids to host the event in 2011.
As you know ITS has grown in a short span of 5 years to become the premier forum for presenting research in the design and use of new and emerging tabletop and interactive surface technologies. The conference covers a wide range of areas, including innovations in related hardware, software, interaction design, understanding design considerations and their applications.
In 2010 the conference will take place in Saarbrücken, Germany
(http://www.its2010.org/) in November but the location for ITS 2011 is open and so on behalf of the Steering Committee I would like to invite all interested groups to submit a bid for hosting ITS 2011.
Any bids should be sent to Sriram Subramanian ([log in to unmask]) from today to 15th of September 2010. After receiving bids, the steering committee will vote for the bids and all bidders will be informed of the result of the bidding process shortly after the steering committee meeting which will take place at ITS 2010 in Saarbrücken.
The form of the bid is fairly open but we do need following information in order to make an informed decision:
. intended location for the conference
. suggestions for program chair - inc. brief bio
. suggestions for conference chair - inc. brief bio
. brief statement of chairs' experience of running conferences
. who will edit the proceedings (default = both chairs)
. commitment to publish the proceedings with ACM DL
. what are the initial planned dates
. which research groups will support the conference
. which sponsors are likely and how will you attract sponsorship
. any direction/theme change you would envisage (default = none)
. any new features/tracks you would like to include or other changes
you would like to make to the conference (default = none)
. brief description (1/2-1 page) of conference venue
. brief description (1/2-1 page) of conference city and region/country
. rough idea of likely costs of (estimates only):
o approximate registration rates
