This year again, during the last weekend of August (26-29.08.2010), Sinology Society Yuan is organizing the International Sinology Symposium. This symposium is being organized every year at a different tourist location in Slovenia. This year it will take place at the pearl of Slovenian Alps-Bohinj lake.
This already traditional symposium has so far hosted participants from 10 countries including Austria, Croatia, Italy, Canada, China, Germany, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Serbia. This year it will again, in a relaxed atmosphere yet of high professional focus in the field of sinology and quality of expertise, host lecturers and participants from all around the world.
Each individual willing to present and share his or her research in the field of sinology is welcomed to send short abstracts to our e mail [log in to unmask] (in English)
The working language of the symposium is English, and the title of this year's workshop is:
Cultural identity of China and Taiwan
The participants of our symposium are therefore sinologists, students of sinology, researchers as well as experts from other fields.
Diversified and wide profile of the lecturers assures an interdisciplinary approach to the given topic and automatically a refreshed approach to the chosen problematics.
YUAN will reimburse the travel expenses to all the lecturers coming from abroad and will also cover other expenses for them during the symposium (accommodation, meals etc.)
Other participants of the symposium are expected to cover the expenses on their own.
If you are interested in this proposal, please contact us as soon as possible. You are welcome to forward the information to whom ever you think would be interested.
We will update you on the changes and news on regular basis.
*Yuan covers the expenses of the most rational travel option within Europe-traveling by train. Refunding will be organized upon the submission of the train ticket. Also, should a group of participants decide to come by car, the gas expenditure will also be covered, following a agreement beforehand with YUAN Society.
